VOIP AlertsTHree loud speakers

SCTC uses a Voice Over I.P. system to alert the campus community of an emergency.

The VOIP system utilizes horns and the campus phone system to send out the emergency message.

DO NOT MUTE OR LOWER THE VOLUME OF YOUR OFFICE PHONES.

Tiger Alert Messaging

SCTC uses Tiger Alert to send out phone/text/email alerts to employees and students in the case of an emergency.

There are two ways to access Tiger Alert:
Website Portal
Log into the Okta Portal (https://login.sctech.edu).
Look for the Regroup icon and click to login.
Mobile App
Use the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store to download the Regroup Mobile App
Enter your employee email address and use sctech for the network ID
Click the red Login Using SSO box to log in via Okta
Once you log in, you can add and update your contact information.

Severe or Inclement Weather, Emergencies and Campus/Center Closures

The President, or other designee, may allow for a campus and/or center closure if severe weather conditions or other life-threatening event exists.

In these situations, Tiger Alert will be activated and you will be notified by the means you choose.

Regarding weather conditions:

  • If weather conditions warrant a closing of a campus and/or center, a late opening, or an early closing of a campus and/or center, employees directly affected by such conditions will be excused from duty without loss of pay or use of leave.
  • Employees on a regular day off or otherwise not affected when their office or workplace is closed because of severe weather conditions will not receive additional time off or other considerations because of closing.

Besides SchoolCast, campus/center closings will be posted on the College's website at www.sctech.edu.
