Embedded Librarian

What is an Embedded Librarian?

• A librarian that is enrolled in a Blackboard course to provide research support to students.

Embedded Librarians Can:

• Provide specialized support to help recommend specific sources chosen to supplement your assignments.
• We can also embed materials, create course guides, and even include a chat widget to provide a central location for students to access library resources.

Online library services

Ask a Librarian on Virtual Chat is now available on the website and in our libguides.

Virtual library assistance via Webex

The librarians will be available to answer questions or library instruction using Collaborate Ultra. If you choose to embed a librarian in your class the librarian can offer a virtual session on library instruction.

Research Guides Help Students!

The library has a collection of online research guides curated by librarians to assist researchers.

Subject guides have recommendations for physical and online resources available through the SCTC Library focused around an academic subject or major.

Course guides include sources and tools that are tailored to a specific class’s content and assignments and can be made for any course offered at SCTC. Libguide link for your class is available in Blackboard
